Life hack: Castor oil packs
What is a castor oil pack?
It’s a piece of cloth soaked in castor oil that’s applied topically to the skin above the liver.
What does it do?
“Conditions that respond well to topical castor oil include:
◌ General detoxification
◌ Intestinal disorders: constipation, loose stools, poor elimination
◌ Liver and gallbladder disorders: fatty liver disease, gallstones
◌ Gynecological conditions: irregular periods, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, urinary symptoms
◌ Lung congestion, asthma, bronchitis and during acute colds and flus”
More things they can help with:
- Liver disorders
- Thyroid cysts and nodules
- Non-cancerous uterine fibroids
- Ovarian cysts
- Constipation
- Gallbladder inflammation or stones
- Inflamed joints
- Lymphatic drainage
- Conditions with poor elimination
- Headaches and migraines
- Cysts in the breast tissue
- General liver detoxification
- Lung infections
In my personal experience, castor oil packs have helped significantly with detoxifying my liver which I can definitely see in my skin. Take a look at the links below for instructions on how to make one and for further information. Most say to use them for about an hour a few times a week, but it really depends on the individual circumstances of each person. I personally have used them for about 40 minutes/3 times a week and saw moderate results. Currently I have been using it almost everyday (give or take) for 40 mins to an hour for the last month and have seen great results. I have struggled with acne for years and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in breakouts and less redness in my complexion. I’ve also noticed better tolerance in digestion and less inflammation.
